The Australian Government is now in a caretaker period in advance of the forthcoming election. Until a new government is sworn in, government operations are conducted in accordance with the caretaker conventions.

Describes the aim, implementation plans, resources and management of coordinated Australian aid to health through Vanuatu government systems.
Restates the Partnership for Development's joint commitments and targets to strengthen health services and accelerate progress towards the health Millennium Development Goals focussed on: enhanced access to, and quality of health care services; controlling and progressively eliminating malaria; improved budgeting, financial and expenditure management; and strengthened health information system. Improving health system management is a planned focus for implementation, so that all the parts--including funds, personnel, facilities, drug supplies and information systems--will work efficiently and effectively together. The schedule commits Australia to work through Government of Vanuatu budget, disbursement, procurement and audit systems in health management and delivery.
