Summary of publication
This World Bank report is an assessment of its completed project to support local government authorities in the North and East provinces of Sri Lanka to deliver services and local infrastructure in a responsive and accountable manner.
It finds the project was successfully implemented, with two and a half million people benefitting from more than 1,200 sub-projects such as roads, drainage and market places, in more than a hundred local authority areas.
DFAT contributed $26 million to this project, which invested a total of USD $106 million from 2010 – 2017.
