This Aid Program Performance Report (APPR) outlines the objectives of the Australian Government's bilateral aid program to Tonga as articulated in the Australia-Tonga Aid Partnership Arrangement 2016-19. It assesses progress towards these objectives from July 2018 to June 2019 and provides recommendations for improving program performance going forward.
Total Australian aid to Tonga in 2018-19 was $28.9 million, including $17.7 million in bilateral assistance. Australia maintains a strong working relationship with Tonga on development and other issues.
