The strategy outlines how the Pacific Centre will implement, manage and monitor the Pacific components of the UNDP Asia-Pacific Regional Programme 2008–2011. It states that the centre will:

  • build regional and national capacity to achieve sustainable and equitable human development in Pacific countries through technical assistance, training, knowledge management and other support
  • provide UNDP country offices in the Pacific (Fiji, Samoa, PNG and Solomon Islands) with easy access to knowledge and advice on global applied research and UNDP lessons learned
  • build partnerships and regional capacity to solve existing and emerging development challenges.

The strategy includes project documents for Pacific Centre work in crisis prevention and recovery, democratic governance, Millennium Development Goals, poverty reduction and financial inclusion.
