The 'Governance for Growth Phase 3 Design' outlines Australia's support to the Vanuatu Government to remove constraints and bottlenecks to economic growth, improve service delivery through policy, regulatory and management reforms and improve public financial management under Vanuatu's Priorities and Action Agenda from 2017 – 2021.
The design retains positive elements of the previous phases of support, including staffing by DFAT officers, co-location with the Prime Minister's Office and a mandate to work across a wide range of economic issues and public financial management reform. It also provides for greater focus on specific reforms rather than institutional capacity building, greater capacity to cover inclusive growth (especially economic empowerment for women) and a strengthened research capacity.
