The Community Ranger Initiative focuses on anti-poaching patrols and community engagement to deter illegal activity.

Community Rangers will work with local groups to build awareness of conservation issues and to develop alternative livelihoods to illegal wildlife trade, bush meat and logging.

Rangers will also remove snares, monitor wildlife populations, and engage with communities to lessen human-animal conflict.

Increasing the skills of health care workers who provide services to people with disability in Fiji

This activity will increase inclusion and improve the health and quality of life for people living with disability.

Cerebral Palsy Alliance's Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist will train and mentor staff who support people with disability, including people who have feeding difficulties which can lead to chronic malnutrition, and people who require wheelchairs.

An outreach clinic will also be delivered in the Northern Division of Fiji, where workers will be mentored by Australian specialist clinicians.

Face-to-face training by Australian staff will be followed by ongoing mentoring via email and Skype.
