Bilateral relations
Australia and Guyana formally established diplomatic relations in 1974. Australia's High Commissioner in Port of Spain has non-resident accreditation to Guyana.
Guyana does not have official representation in Australia.
Australia and Guyana are members of the Commonwealth, World Trade Organisation (WTO), and United Nations (UN).
Guyana is a member of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Organization of American States (OAS), Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States, and other regional organisations.
Guyana is a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and hosts CARICOM’s headquarters.
The Australian High Commission in Port of Spain manages a Direct Aid program in Guyana.
