Morocco

Morocco is a constitutional monarchy ruled by King Mohammed VI since 1999.

Official languages are Arabic and Amazigh, though French is the language of business and government. Morocco has a diverse, open, market-oriented economy, with Europe being its main trading partner.

Formal diplomatic relations were established in 1976. Australia and Morocco maintain positive bilateral relations, including in the areas of trade, agriculture and joint efforts to counter terrorism and violent extremism.

We established a diplomatic presence in Rabat in 2017. Morocco is represented in Australia by an Embassy in Canberra.
