Bilateral relations

Australia and Barbados established diplomatic relations in 1974. Australia's High Commissioner in Port of Spain has non-resident accreditation to Barbados. Australia has an Honorary Consul in Bridgetown.

Barbados does not have official representation in Australia. Barbados has an Honorary Consul in Sydney.

Australia and Barbados are members of the Commonwealth, International Maritime Organisation (IMO), World Trade Organisation (WTO), and United Nations (UN).

Barbados is a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States, Organization of American States (OAS) and the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) grouping.

Barbados joined the Commonwealth Blue Charter Coral Reef Protection and Restoration Action Group in 2020, a group Australia co-champions with Belize and Mauritius.
