Volunteer agreement with Bhutan

The Australian Volunteers program in Bhutan works in partnership with the Royal Government of Bhutan in the health and education sectors. Each volunteer works in Bhutan for a period of one to two years.

In the health sector, volunteers focus on improving access to good quality health services for the people of Bhutan. In the education sector, the focus is on making high-quality education accessible to children with special needs.

In 2015–16, 13 new volunteers were deployed to Bhutan working in education, health, agriculture and forestry sectors. In 2016-17, 17 volunteers will be deployed with a focus on supporting entrepreneurial growth and development in the private sector.
