Framework Agreement between the European Union and Australia

The Framework Agreement between the European Union (EU) and Australia was signed by then High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, and former Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Julie Bishop, at Manila, the Philippines, on 7 August 2017.

Following ratification by Australia, the EU and all EU member states, the Agreement entered into force on 21 October 2022.

The Agreement will enhance cooperation between Australia and the EU in a wide range of areas, including foreign and security policy, sustainable development, climate change, and economic and trade matters.
