Branching into the gaming world, the Australia now Germany 2017 program supported an Australian delegation to go to Gamescom, an annual trade fair for interactive games and entertainment held in Cologne.

The Australian Embassy, in partnership with the Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA) and Creative Victoria, co-hosted the inaugural Australian Breakfast business roundtable at Gamescom. Australian companies, including League of Geeks, Surprise Attack and Tantalus, joined international delegates for the networking function, providing a unique opportunity to connect with key people in the fast-growing global game market.

The world's second-largest gaming event drew in over 350,000 visitors and 30,000 trade and industry representatives. It was the ideal platform for raising the profile of the Australian game development industry internationally.
