Are you currently contracted to support the delivery of Australian Aid? Does your organisation partner with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to undertake investment designs and/or performance management activities? Are you considering tendering for DFAT aid related contracts?
DFAT is opening up some of our in-house training courses to help instruct and support industry to better understand DFAT's requirements. The courses are generally delivered to DFAT staff who have aid responsibilities in Canberra or at one of our overseas missions. The courses demystify DFAT's requirements and expectations for the management and delivery of Australian aid.
DFAT is seeking an expression of interest (EOI) from Managing Contractors and Non-Government Organisations to attend courses and clinics in Melbourne from 17-21 June 2019.
DFAT is planning on delivering the following suite of aid management training:
- 17-18 June – Managing Design (2 days)
The Managing Design course looks at key elements and products of a design process; the investment concept requirements; the different design pathways in DFAT's aid program; the roles and responsibilities of staff in design; and resources available to support designs. - 19 June – Clinics (1 hour)
One on one sessions to examine and discuss aid investment, design or M&E framework in detail. - 20-21 June – Monitoring and Evaluation (2 days)
Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of Australia's aid investments is an essential part of the Department's approach to aid management and vital to managing risks and delivering results. This course will help participants understand how to develop, commission and implement M&E over the life of an aid investment.
