Project Description

The second UWA-SKKU Partnership Forum will take place at Sungkyungwan University in September 2017 and is a second stage of a two-year project to build tangible University-wide links between Australia and Korea. The first forum, hosted by UWA in September 2016, resulted in successful early research collaborations in Medicine, knowledge sharing in Expansion Microscopy, and student exchanges in the discipline of Physics and Korean language program opportunities for UWA students. The second forum aims to further deepen these people-to-people collaborations by allowing UWA to build industry partnerships in Korea by linking Medicine and Physics to SKKU's primary industry partner Samsung. Moreover, UWA seeks to support SKKU in building teaching and research networks to strengthen SKKU's new Australian Studies Centre by providing UWA's leading expertise in Australian Studies. Knowledge sharing in areas such as Australian literature, politics, history, heritage and indigenous studies will enhance awareness and understanding of Australia in Korea.
