In February 2016, seven influential journalists from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru travelled to Australia for an International Media Visit. The delegation visited Brisbane, Sydney and the Blue Mountains to experience Australian art, performance and Indigenous culture. They had the opportunity to learn about Australia's creative industries and partnerships with the Latin American region.

Whilst in Brisbane the delegates attended the Australian Performing Arts Market, Australia's leading internationally focused industry event for contemporary performing arts. The market offered delegates the opportunity to exchange ideas, develop collaborations and network with national and international presenters, agents and influencers.

The IMV included a trip to the 2018 Commonwealth Games Aquatic Centre on the Gold Coast to experience Australia's cutting edge sports infrastructure. The journalists also gained an understanding of the vibrant multicultural and multilingual communities of Australia and were exposed to the best of Australia's contemporary theatre and dance.
