Bovis Lend Lease, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Lend
Lease Group, has won a public tender to provide construction,
exhibition and technical operations services worth $49.15
million for Australia's pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai
World Expo.

The Shanghai World Expo 2010 will be the biggest expo in
history, with over 200 participating countries and
organisations and seventy million visitors expected over six
months. It is an unprecedented opportunity for Australia
to reinforce existing bilateral links and cultivate new areas
of cooperation with China.

The award of this contract marks an important milestone for
the project. The Australian Pavilion is going to be a
compelling platform from which to raise Australia's
profile in the China market, showcase Australian innovation and
design expertise, and support Australia's broader trade
and investment interests in China.

Bovis Lend Lease, which has 15 years experience in China and
is a registered Class 3 General Contractor for construction
services in China, will team with Melbourne exhibition designer
Think!OTS and a range of other leading companies in delivering
the project.

Australia's striking pavilion was designed by
Melbourne architects Wood Marsh in conjunction with
Think!OTS. The parliamentary Public Works Committee
approved the construction plans in September 2008. The
pavilion will be built on a 4800 square metre site in the
centre of the expo and is expected to attract some seven
million visitors over the six months of the expo.

The pavilion's exhibitions will both entertain
visitors and project a clear image of contemporary Australia as
a country with a sophisticated modern economy, a skilled
workforce, and a culturally diverse society. Consistent
with the expo theme of 'Better City, Better Life',
Australia's participation will promote Australia's
cities, which are consistently ranked amongst the most liveable
in the world, as great places in which to study, live and
work.

The Shanghai World Expo 2010 provides a wealth of
opportunities for Australian business. Companies will be
able to participate in a structured program of trade and
investment promotion activities, including trade missions,
targeted business networking events and sectoral promotions in
the pavilion's VIP area. They also have the chance
to provide goods and services to the project and to become
corporate sponsors.

The Shanghai World Expo will take place between 1 May and 31
October 2010. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
is leading the expo project in collaboration with Commonwealth
agencies, state and territory governments and private sector
stakeholders. Information about Australia's
participation in the Shanghai World Expo 2010 can be found at www.expo2010.com.au.
