Australia-Samoa Aid Partnership Arrangement 2016 – 2019

Summary of publication

The Aid Partnership, signed on 7 December 2016, reflects the development priorities of respective governments and aligns with the Memorandum of Understanding on Development Co-operation 1999 and Australia's Aid Investment Plan Samoa 2015-16 to 2018-19.

It focuses on enabling economic growth, enhancing education and health outcomes and strengthening governance. It also supports cross-cutting priorities that are critical to addressing barriers to economic growth and poverty reduction in Samoa, including climate change and disaster resilience, gender equality and inclusion of people with disability.

The Aid Partnership will provide predictability and a strategic focus for Australia's aid investments over the next three years. It sets out performance benchmarks and mutual obligations on both parties.
