Following the 7.9 Richter scale earthquake that struck West Sumatra Province, Indonesia on 30th September 2009, the Australian Government committed up to $15 million to support construction of damaged schools and community health facilities (Puskesmas).

Description

Following to the 30th September 2009, a 7.9 Richter scale earthquake that struck West Sumatra Province in Indonesia, the Australian Government committed up to $15 million to support construction of damaged schools and community health facilities (Puskesmas) in the province. Out of the total A$ 15million committed, Australian Government committed A$5million for the construction of 8 Community Health Centres (Puskesmas) in the province. The fund was channelled and managed through AusAID who then engaged the same managing contractor that implements its Australia Indonesia Partnership Maternal and Neonatal Health (AIPMNH) Program to reconstruct those Puskesmas in Padang Pariaman.
