Summary of publication

The 2018-19 Australia Awards Aid Program Performance Report provides a global picture of the performance of Australia Awards.

It outlines progress against the four outcomes of the Australia Awards Global Strategy:

• alumni using their skills, knowledge and networks to contribute to sustainable development
• alumni contributing to cooperation between Australia and partner countries
• effective, mutually advantageous partnerships between institutions and businesses in Australia and partner countries
• alumni view Australia, Australians and Australian expertise positively.

In 2018-19, the Australia Awards budget allocation was $290.5 million. Australia Awards offered 3,161 awards to individuals from over 55 developing countries in the 2019 intake. This included 1,203 Australia Awards Scholarships, 331 Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships, 12 ACIAR awards and 1,615 Short Course Awards.
