A concept note detailing AusAID support for Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and Fire and Rescue NSW to engage with international USAR mechanisms, maintain their capability and equipment, and deploy to developing countries in response to disasters.
Description
This concept note details how QFRS and FRNSW are to be enabled to enhance their ability to response to international disasters quickly and effectively. This includes participation in international and regional exercises to improve technical capability and interoperability with other USAR teams and UN response mechanisms,and the provision of mentors and classifiers for other teams seeking international accreditation, as per their international requirements- as well as keeping technical equipment maintained to international standards.
