Summary of publication
The annual plan describes activities under the Mama Graon Program for fourteen months to end December 2012 following the inception period (so future plans will align with the Government of Vanuatu fiscal year).
The annual plan explains program activities in three parts: Part A, comprising Australian-funded activities to achieve the three program objectives (including on-going work with the Malvatumauri to improve decision-making by customary landholders; helping the Land Sector Coordination Unit review local government activities and capacity; reducing the backlog of unregistered land registration documents; and improving land registration procedures and practises); Part B, which covers New Zealand-funded activities to strengthen the Customary Lands Tribunal (e.g. reviewing legislation, providing mediation services and raising public awareness) and to improve Vanuatu's Land Information Management System (e.g. Information Technology, reviewing land survey records and maps, and improving valuation services); and Part C, which covers consultation and management arrangements (including financial and activity reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and risk management).
