Since Indigenous Australians and Pacific Islanders voyaged across the Pacific Ocean, Australia has shared a unique history with the people and stories of the Pacific region. PERFORMING OUR STORIES explores these deep connections by showcasing Australia’s contemporary Indigenous performance art and expertise in the creative industries via a partnership between Northern River Performing Arts (NORPA) and Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Creative Industries, and linking with leading arts centres in the Pacific, the Melanesian Institute of Creative Arts (MIAC) at the University of Papua New Guinea and the Oceania Arts Centre (OAC) at the University of the South Pacific, Fiji.
