James Batchelor and Collaborators – Australia Now Tour in France

Choreographer James Batchelor and Collaborators will tour a suite of contemporary dance works ‘Deepspace’, ‘Hyperspace’ and ‘An Evening-length Performance’ as part of the ‘Australia Now’ focus festival in France 2021. The tour includes performances at Theatre de Vanves (Paris), Theatre Garonne (Toulouse), Espace Pasolini (Valenciennes) and bespoke garden performances in Versailles (Plastique Danse Flore) and Dijon (Entre Cour et Jardins).

Led by choreographer James Batchelor and producer Bek Berger, the creative team consists of Australian contemporary dancers Natalie Abbott and Chloe Chignell, composer/live sound artist Morgan Hickinbotham and international collaborators George Hampton-Wale (London) and Giorgia Ohanesian Nardin (Milan).

‘Deepspace’ and ‘Hyperspace’ were inspired by Batchelor’s participation on a 2 month expedition to the Antarctic in 2016. ‘An Evening-length Performance’ is a new work created in 2020 that explores social and architectural choreographies of the Ballroom event-space.
