Project summary
A symposium in late January 2016 to share and exchange ideas for building a resilient community: local and international experts in the fields of disaster risk reduction, landscape architecture, urban design and architecture will present ideas for sustainable future development of the Karakuwa Region. In a collaborative workshop, citizens are invited to share their stories and ideas for living with the sea in Kesennuma.
Field work: the international research team, including academics from RMIT University and Waseda University, will visit sites in and around Kesennuma to see the status of recovery project and meet local stakeholders. This field work tour is open to public participation.
