Meet our 2017 grantees
Project summary
Sector: Tourism
Country location: Australia, Republic of Korea
Grantee: University of South Australia
Project Description
This project will be a necessary step to strengthen bilateral economic relationships between Korea and Australia. Due to little knowledge on international partnership direction in the food and tourism sectors, the project will aim to develop cross cultural understanding of food, agriculture, and tourism services, especially targeting Korean markets for Australia and Australian markets for Korea. The project is aligned with AKF's economic priorities –developing tourism sector's smart service skills and international market knowledge for targeting Asian markets set by Tourism Australia. The two reciprocal workshops and field trips in Adelaide and Seoul will invite various experts from tour operators, restaurateurs, agricultural producers, researchers, and tourism governments to develop their business capabilities and best practices by linking innovative tourism services with regional food products. The outcome of this project will be actively promoted and published through media, and engaged with tourism associations for providing continuous training opportunity for industry practitioners.
