Meet our 2018 grantees
Project Summary
Sector: Sport
Country location: Australia, Republic of Korea
Grantee: Australian Baseball Federation Inc
Project Description
The Australian Baseball League has already established itself as one of the world's premier baseball competitions. Since 2010, more than 530 foreign players have come to Australia to participate in one of the world's only competitions that is active during the Northern Hemisphere winter. In 2018, we will launch a groundbreaking initiative that will bring a full team of Korean players to compete in Australia. We will create a five-part documentary featuring the lifestyles and cultural pursuits of the team during their four-month stay in - further highlighting the Australian way of life. Using translations services and technological developments to extend our digital media and broadcast footprint, we anticipate as many as 500,000 fans will follow each game the team plays during the Korean winter months. This will significantly increase the interest and awareness of the project - offering a deeper engagement and focused insight into Australian culture, economic diversity and trade potential.
