Meet our 2018 grantees
Project Summary
Sector: Science, Technology and Innovation
Country location: Australia, Republic of Korea
Grantee: Griffith University
Project Description
This project envisions to establish a long-term collaboration framework between Australian and Korean scientists to develop liquid biopsy based platforms for early cancer diagnosis and precision medicine. Every year more than a 100,000 people die of cancer in Australia and Korea combined, clearly underlining the need for improved early cancer diagnosis platforms as well as better tools to tailor therapies according to patient specific tumour genotype. This Project involves exchange of complementary expertise and facilities between participating Australian and Korean groups to develop an integrated platform for circulating tumour cell isolation and molecular profiling. Visits of researchers from both groups to counterpart labs form the core component of this project. These visits will not only foster research partnership between both the groups, it will also help researchers to develop a better understanding of scientific environment, and an increased awareness of research activities at respective countries.
