Ms Alnashie is the CEO of Al Nasser & Al Nashie United Company (NNUC) – one of the largest construction firms in Kuwait. Her work supports the empowerment of women in business and society.
Dena has a Civil Engineering with honors degree from the University of Sydney, Australia.
In 2002, she moved to Kuwait to join NNUC, her family's construction and contracting company, which has become one of the most renowned companies in the Kuwaiti market. Ms Alnashie also successfully established the first acoustic consultant firm in Kuwait (2007) to represent Renzo Tonin & Associates.
In collaboration with the Australian Embassy in Kuwait, Ms Alnashie contributed to the formation of the first Australian Business Group in Kuwait and served as the President (2012-2014) and later as a member of the Australian Embassy Business Advisory Group (2019-2022).
Ms Alnashie supports the empowerment of women and their social and economic importance in society. This has guided her work in NNUC, which was one of the first companies in the region to sign up to The Women's Empowerment Principles launched in 2010 by the UN Women to advance gender equality and women's empowerment in the workplace.
In 2021, Arabian Business featured Ms Alnashie as one of the one hundred most influential women in the Arab region.
