This exciting residency program will see six international writers undertake a residency program at Varuna – the National Writers’ House in the Blue Mountains, while six talented Australian writers will participate in residences in China, India, Ireland, New Zealand, USA and Scotland. This program will build enduring partnerships with influential cultural institutions around the world, support publishing opportunities for Australian writers, increase international awareness of Australian culture, and through lasting one-to-one collegiate relationships, create a foundation for cross-cultural understanding. The program will begin in 2022 when international borders re-open.
