We Can – We Are Talented!, Bus Stop Films and the Arts Council of Mongolia

In 2022 Bus Stop Films (BSF) will return to Mongolia to continue their work in partnership with the Arts Council of Mongolia, to create a more just and inclusive world through the power of film. People living with disability often face barriers to education, employment and community participation. Through their work, BSF will use filmmaking and the film industry to raise the profile of people with disability on both sides of the camera through the production of an inclusively made short film, based on Bus Stops, award-winning Accessible Film Studies Program.

This will continue the success of the ‘We Can – We Are Talented!’ strategy which saw 18 young adults with intellectual disability learn filmmaking through BSF’s short film ‘Stairs’ shot on location in Mongolia, with an Australian/Mongolian team and post produced in Australia. The film has won a swag of awards, screening at festivals around the world and has been entered into the Oscars.
