Summary of publication
This independent evaluation assessed the effectiveness of Australia’s and New Zealand’s joint investment in the Office of the Pacific Ocean Commissioner (OPOC) from 2017 to 2021, and provides recommendations for future consideration. Among other conclusions, the evaluation found that OPOC is highly relevant for the Pacific through its professional support of the Pacific Ocean Commissioner, its functions as a convenor, coordinator and advocate for ocean issues, and the link it makes between priority regional and international ocean issues.
