Summary of publication
Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programs (UCEP) Bangladesh is implementing DFAT supported ‘Skills for Economic Growth and Prosperity’ investment in Bangladesh. This Mid-term Review (MTR) assesses the continuing relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of the investment, and evaluates how well UCEP pivoted its programs in light of the pandemic.
The review found that in the face of school closure caused by the pandemic, UCEP acted quickly and effectively to redesign its programs to ensure learning continuity among its students. It was confirmed that UCEP has strengthened policies, strategies and practices around child protection and social inclusion. The organisation operates in alignment with the Government of Bangladesh’s policies and guidelines, and has supported many of the Bangladesh Government’s initiatives especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This investment is also aligned with DFAT’s Bangladesh COVID-19 Development Response Plan (CDRP).
