Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP)

  • Consultations began in 2008.
  • Negotiations began in 2010, and concluded inOctober 2015.
  • More than 90 written submissions were received.
  • Direct consultations and discussions were held with over 1000 stakeholders.

A Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) and National Interest Analysis (NIA) for the TPP was prepared in a manner consistent with Australia's treaty making processes.

China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA)

  • Consultations began in 2004.
  • Negotiations began in 2005.
  • More than 260 written submissions were received.
  • Direct consultations and discussions were held with 710 stakeholders.

Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement (JAEPA)

  • Consultations began in 2006.
  • Negotiations began in 2007.
  • More than 90 written submissions were received.
  • Direct consultations and discussions were held with 533 stakeholders.

Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA)

  • Consultations began in 2008.
  • Negotiations began in 2009.
  • More than 60 written submissions were received.
  • Direct consultations and discussions were held with 181 stakeholders.

Malaysia-Australia Free Trade Agreement (MAFTA)

  • Consultations began in 2004.
  • Negotiations began in 2005.
  • More than 100 written submissions were received.
  • Direct consultations and discussions were held with 177 stakeholders.

ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA)

  • Consultations began in 2004.
  • Negotiations began in 2005.
  • Around 50 written submissions were received.
  • Direct consultations and discussions were held with 190 stakeholders.
