The Aide Memoires from the Design Mission for new proposed program on Australia – Vietnam Partnership for Women's Economic Empowerment - is provided for the information of the market and prospective tenderers. It is likely that the draft Investment Design will be available around early September 2016. The proposed long term focus of the program would be to improve social and economic status of women living in the north west of Vietnam. These could be achieved through:
- Women living in local communities have increased capacity, space and choices to beneficially engage with the agriculture and tourism sectors.
- Diverse private sector actors within the agriculture and tourism sectors innovate to become increasingly inclusive, gender sensitive, profitable and sustainable.
- Government stakeholders reinforce policies, and enact plans, regulations and services that enable gender and ethnically equitable and inclusive socio-economic development.
Below is the Aide Memoire that proposes a five-year program, with scope for a five-year extension, depending on performance and results. The program will focus on two key provinces of the North-West Region: Son La and Lao Cai.
