Description

The Australian Human Rights Commission, as the national human rights institution of the host country for the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) 2011, assumed the Chair of the Commonwealth Forum of National Human Rights Institutions at a meeting of the Forum held in London in May 2011.

Activities covered as part of the mid-term report include: general secretariat support; Commonwealth reform process; annual Forum meeting; Forum website; Forum working group on disability; engagement on human right issues of sexual orientation and gender identity; coordination of strategic interventions with regards to National Human Rights Institutions; and building relationships with civil society.
