Summary
These papers provide the framework and content for the final Pacific 2020 report.
Description
The Pacific 2020 background papers provide the framework and content for the final Pacific 2020 report. They are important in their own right as they present a separate analysis of the nine growth topics covered by Pacific 2020, and practical policy options in each areas.
There are 11 background papers. Nine were developed from the discussions of regional practitioners and experts at round table meetings held in June and July 2005. The findings, interpretations and conclusions expressed in the papers are based on the discussions at these round tables and a subsequent peer review. The views expressed in the papers are therefore not necessarily the views of any single individual or organisation.
The two remaining papers were commissioned by the World Bank and the Australian Treasury. The World Bank paper provides a framework on economic growth in the region. The Australian Treasury paper is on the regional economic agenda.
