Pacific Russia: Risks and Rewards

Photo - See caption below for description

Pacific Russia's enormous potential raw material, mineral and energy
reserves and its strategic geographical location present significant
opportunities and challenges. This report provides the first comprehensive
analysis of Pacific Russia's economic potential and its implications for
Australia. Drawing on the experience of Australian companies operating in the
region, the export reveals that despite the political and economic
uncertainties and the difficult business environment, Pacific Russia may offer
lucrative trade and investment opportunities in processed foods, mineral and
energy exploration and transport infastructure. The report also assesses
Pacific Russia's potential to displace Australian commodity exports to key
North East Asian markets - China, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
