This report assesses the performance of Australia's aid program in Pakistan in 2017/18 against the Pakistan Aid Investment Plan (AIP) 2015-16 to 2018-19. In 2017/18, Australia's total official development assistance budget to Pakistan was AUD49.6 million. The past year has seen good progress towards Australia's aid objectives in Pakistan, with most targets met or exceeded. Australia's aid program has continued to deliver services to the most vulnerable, and has contributed to important system and policy reforms at provincial and national levels.
2017/18 has also been a year of strategic review and planning to lay the foundations for Australia's next AIP (2019-23). The new AIP will help deliver on a more consolidated and targeted aid program for the coming five years.
