RedR-AusAID Partnership Agreement 2010-13

Summary

This Partnership Agreement seeks to foster enhanced capacity within the Australian humanitarian community to contribute to international emergencies by training and providing effective relief personnel to humanitarian agencies worldwide.

Description

This document sets out the committments both AusAID and RedR Australia make in the partnership.The partnership contributes to the Australian Government strategic objective of strengthening the capacity of Australian agencies and the international humanitarian community to respond to humanitarian crises.

The objectives of the partnership are to:

  1. Place RedR Australia personnel in the mainstream of international response to disasters and emergencies in the sectors of technical services, logistics, protection, coordination, health and education
  2. Provide a training service which delivers a mix of core courses, specialized courses, jointly-run courses in conjunction with UN agencies, and customized training for "external clients using modified material from core courses. The keystone arrangement is the construction, utilisation and maintenance of a Standby Register of personnel with the experience and skill profiles required by UN agencies at field level.
