Annex B 6.1: Singapore Australia Go-Green Co-Innovation Program

Engagements and Partnerships

Purpose

To incentivise and facilitate collaboration between Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) from Singapore and Australia seeking to establish or expand business and commercial activities that boost trade in goods and services across green growth sectors.

Description

Singapore and Australia will work together to support SMEs in their efforts to jointly develop innovative green products, services or technology that will lead to the establishment or expansion of business and commercial activities that further promote trade between the two countries.

Support for projects will be provided in the form of grants and business matching services. Participating SMEs will be expected to also invest resources into their projects. Grants can be used to fund the development and commercialisation of products, services or solutions that drive the decarbonisation of economic activities or help Singapore and Australia transition to net zero emissions.

Full details on this initiative, including the process of applying for grants, will be made available in the first quarter of 2023. Grants will support projects that focus on priority green economy sectors, including:

  • Renewable and clean energy;
  • Sustainable Agribusiness and food;
  • Built environment and infrastructure;
  • Advanced Manufacturing and Sustainable Materials;
  • Waste management and circular economy;
  • Green Transportation and Logistics;
  • Energy Efficient Technologies and Products; and 
  • Environmental Monitoring, Analysis and Assessment

Duration

To commence in first quarter 2023.

Governance Process

Lead agencies will report on the design, development and implementation of the initiative to the GEA Action Team.
