Australian Aid: Friendship Grants was a $10 million, three-year grant program which commenced in 2019 and concluded in 2022. It provided grants of $30,000 to $60,000 to local Australian community organisations.

In Round 1, more than 200 applications were received, with 46 community organisations across Australia awarded Friendship Grants. Outcomes were achieved in 15 Indo-Pacific countries.

The Friendship Grants program was significantly affected by COVID-19 and could not be delivered in 2020 and 2021. With the program scheduled to cease in 2022, there will be no further rounds of the program.
