Bilateral relations
Australia and Jamaica established diplomatic relations in 1974. Australia’s High Commissioner in Port of Spain has non-resident accreditation to Jamaica. Australia also maintains an Honorary Consul in Kingston.
Jamaica's High Commissioner to Australia is resident in Tokyo, with an Honorary Consul in Sydney.
Australia and Jamaica are members of the Commonwealth, World Trade Organisation (WTO), International Maritime Organization (IMO) and United Nations (UN).
Jamaica is a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States and the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) grouping.
Jamaica hosts the UN International Seabed Authority.
The Australian High Commission in Port of Spain manages a Direct Aid Program in Jamaica.
