On 16 September 2022, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) experienced printing and dispatch issues in its State and Territory Offices.
As a result of these issues, 145 customers were unable to collect passports. We understand some of these customers had travel plans. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this issue.
The Australian Passport Office (APO) is working closely with impacted customers to reduce disruption on travel plans. This includes printing passports on the weekend for people with imminent travel.
The printer outage was caused by network system issues. DFAT is working to resolve these issues as a priority.
