Business Partnerships Platform Round Three

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is pleased to announce ten successful partnerships under Round 3 of the Business Partnerships Platform (BPP), linking Australia's aid investments with the private sector to deliver economic growth and improved livelihoods in partner developing countries.

The successful partnerships are in:

  • Papua New Guinea to support affordable solar solutions for remote households and businesses
  • Solomon Islands to establish organic cocoa production
  • Tonga to improve farm-to-market logistics for the export of root crops
  • Nepal to promote mobile financial access that will enable safer sending of remittances
  • Nepal to support microfinance loans for affordable housing
  • Pakistan to train women dairy farmers
  • Kenya to commodify waste mango seed into additional income for smallholder farmers
  • Kenya to expand the range of clean energy appliances to urban households
  • Vietnam to increase access to finance and improve financial literacy for urban migrant entrepreneurs
  • Laos to support local buffalo breeding

33 BPP partnerships currently operate across 16 countries in the Indo-Pacific region. BPP Round 3 partnerships are expected to benefit 1,052,045 people (568,320 women). The private sector will contribute $5.4 million to this third round of BPP funding and will continue to be a critical partner in Australia's aid program.
