Palestinian Film Festival Australia

Project description

The Palestinian Film Festival Australia is an innovative, grassroots community initiative dedicated to the promotion of Palestinian arts and culture in a multicultural Australian context. In its 8th year, the festival is built on the ethos that cultural output can facilitate cross-cultural engagement and communication which ultimately leads to stronger, more resilient and inclusive communities. Audience and stakeholder feedback before, during and after previous festival points positively that our conscious and collective efforts in building cultural understanding and engaging Palestinian and Arab-Australians as well as other Australians including Jewish-Australians are both recognised and appreciated. Showcasing an average of 15 international films – all filmed in or about Palestine – the festival is a cinematic journey of powerful imagery and creative, thought-provoking storytelling. Based in Sydney, the festival is committed to a multi-city program that has so far included Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Canberra.
