The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has reviewed its Travel Advice for Mexico dated 14 March 1994 and advises that, owing to unsettled security in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas, Australians should restrict their itineraries in Chiapas to the main tourist sites and maintain a high level of personal security awareness.

Australians who travel to Chiapas are urged to contact the Australian Embassy, Ruben Dario 55, Col. Polanco 11560 Mexico D.F. (Telephone : 52 5 5315225) for advice on current developments.
