The Aid Partnership, signed on 21 September 2016, reflects the development priorities of respective governments and aligns with the Tonga Strategic Development Framework II and Australia's Aid Investment Plan Tonga 2015-16 to 2018-19. It focuses on economic reform, private sector development, health and skills development. It also supports cross-cutting priorities that are critical to addressing barriers to economic growth and poverty reduction in Tonga, including climate change and disaster resilience, empowering women and girls, and disability inclusion. The Aid Partnership will provide predictability and a strategic focus for Australia's aid investments over the next three years. It sets out performance benchmarks and mutual obligations on both parties.
