BOS Training: An Independent Review – Its implementation, Impact, and Implications for the Development of Indonesia's Education System

Summary of publication

This evaluation report of the BOS (Bantuan Operasional Sekolah – School Operational Assistance) Training Program in Indonesia provides an account of the results of Australia's investment in the program. It also outlines lessons learned and provides recommendations that are relevant to the broader aid programs regarding design, implementation and Monitoring and Evaluation activities.

Australia provided AUD26 million to the Government of Indonesia's Ministry of Education and Culture to implement nationwide school-based management training under the School and District Management component of the Education Partnership Program. This training program aimed to maximise the efficient, effective and transparent use of BOS funds and other school resources.
