Improving Health Service Delivery in Myanmar - UN Joint Program on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health: Independent Review Report

Summary of publication

The evaluation was conducted in October 2013 and focused on identifying lessons learned and recommendations for strengthening future support to maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH). It found that the program's ambitions for its one-year timeframe (February 2012 to May 2013) were too high. While the program delivered outcomes in improving MNCH, the short duration of the program did not allow it to deliver on its other key objective which was to encourage greater coordination between UN agencies in Myanmar delivering MNCH services. The findings of the review were incorporated into the design of the subsequent Three Millennium Development Goals Fund.
