Summary of publication

This report presents the favourable findings of a midterm review of the Australia World Bank Philippines Development Trust Fund and offers recommendations to improve the operation of the trust fund.

The main findings of the midterm review of the Australia World Bank Philippines Development Trust Fund show that it has:

1. strengthened collaboration between Australia and the World Bank at both strategic and operational levels, leading to more effective policy dialogue with the Government
2. reduced costs and time related to setting up, funding, and implementing jointly agreed activities, vis-à-vis other funding mechanisms available
3. strengthened collaboration and strategic use of resources provided by the two institutions, and enabled the relative strengths of the two institutions to be reflected in the delivery of assistance to the Government.

Recommendations of the review relate to more strategic engagement and further strengthening the partnership between Australia and the World Bank.
